Director’s Message

In 1986, the National Policy on Education recognized the need for improving the quality for teaching and proposed to provide opportunities for professional and career development of teachers so that they may fulfill their role and responsibility within the system of higher education. With the said object, a Human Resource Development Centre (erstwhile the Academic Staff College) was established at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh during the session 2006-07. 

The UGC – Human Resource Development Centre, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur has been organizing several programs for the professional and personal development of teachers. The in-service programs organized include inter/multi-disciplinary refresher courses, faculty induction programs for newly recruited faculty members, short-term courses, and workshops on regular basis. The themes selected for the programs are socially relevant, professionally useful, and academically important to brace up the teachers to meet the emerging challenges in the higher education landscape. During a span of 16 years, this Centre has been steadily growing into an institution with a reputation of providing quality programs for the stakeholders.

At the University level, we are proud to enjoy the generous support provided by our Honorable Vice Chancellor - Prof. Sachchidanand Shukla, Registrar - Dr. Shailendra Patel, the faculty members of various School of Studies in the campus and the academicians, administrators and researchers all around.

The last few years have witnessed a paradigm shift in teaching and learning and the courses are now being conducted online. Knowledge is an infinite treasure and all the stakeholders are welcome to explore the bountiful wealth of opportunities available here to refresh and reinvent their capabilities.
