Institute of Renewable Energy Technology & Management (IRETM)
is one of its kinds in central India region to cover diverse issue of solar,
wind, biomass, geothermal and other renewable sources. The Centre provides
three year degree program named ?Bachelor of Vocation? (B.Voc) with multiple
entry and exit points such as Certificate/ Diploma/ Advanced Diploma under the
National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). The B.Voc. programme is focused
on providing undergraduate studies which incorporate specific job roles and
their National Occupational Standards (NOS) along with broad based general
education. The course is running by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is
established under DDUKVY scheme of UGC.
Since its inception in September 2015, the department has achieved
many milestones. Institute of RETM always believed to impart quality education and skilling
the young mind with more & more practical demonstration. On regular basis
the syllabus is reviewed with involving equal industry participation, so that
uniqueness and industry requirement would embed in syllabus. The course
maintains 60:40 ratio of skill & general component respectively in the
curriculum. This multi-disciplinary integrated programme train the students not
only in renewable energy technologies and its implementation but also in
equally important areas of energy infrastructure, rational use of energy,
energy policies and regulations, and energy-environment interface etc.. The
major objective of this programme is to upgrade skills of candidates in this
field to international standards through significant industry involvement and
to impart high quality education, training, research through qualified
academicians & professionals. The course is designed in a way to make the
student capable enough that they gain adequate knowledge and skills, which
makes them prepared at each exit point of the programme and bridges the
potential skill gap identified.
Objective of Programme
The main objective of the B.Voc. Programme in Renewable Energy
Technology & Management is to upgrade skills of candidates in field of
renewable energy sources to international standards through significant
industry involvement and to impart high quality education, training, research
through qualified academicians & professionals. The course is designed in
a way to make the student capable enough that they gain adequate knowledge and skills,
which makes them prepared at each exit point of the programme.
The curriculum is drafted with the purpose to
provide judicious mix of skills relating to
a renewable energy field.
Programme Information
The University Grants Commission has approved Bachelor of Vocation
(B.Voc.) Programme in Renewable Energy Technology& Management to Pt.
Ravishankar Shukla University, with flexible entry & exits under the
National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), to promote interdisciplinary
activities in the field of renewable energy sources & related technologies.
The programme exhibits its uniqueness fostering the much sought-after
leadership skills through the management energy courses. Thus, the programme
enables the students to tackle practical problems of design, development,
deployment in the industry, and to pursue academics as well as frontiers of
research. The Programme is designed to bridge the potential skill gap
identified. The curriculum in each of the years of the programme would be a
suitable mix of general education and skill development components. We are glad
to say that Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is one among very few institutes
of India which is offering a structured programme to cover the diverse range of
issues related to Renewable Energy Sector.
The degree of B.Voc. (Renewable Energy Technology) of the Pt.
Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur shall be conferred on the candidate who
pursues the prescribed course of study for six semesters and passes the examinations
as prescribed in the relevant Ordinances.
