Year of Establishment: 1965
The School of Studies in Geography (Established: 1965) is one of the oldest departments of the University. A large number of students seek admission for various courses (M.A./M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D.). It attracts a large numbers of students (about 75% of its enrollment) from various parts of the country. The focal areas of research are Agriculture Geography, Regional Development, Resource Development, Population Geography, Urban Studies & Social Geography. Initiatives for development of facilities and courses in Remote Sensing and GIS are underway.
